Derek Padden, CISSP

President

Derek Padden, the President and founder of Blue Glacier Management Group has more than 16 years of experience in cyber security, information technology, incident/emergency response, and program management activities within the Department of Defense and Federal Government at both the national- and department-level. Derek’s focus is to provide clients with the highest-level professional and qualified people who believe in excelling in the client mission space through innovation, attention to detail, and exceptional communication.

Prior to starting Blue Glacier, Derek served as a Communications Officer in the United States Air Force where he led software development efforts for Air Force Headquarters' staff, supported two international base commanders in both Japan and Saudi Arabia, and led the development and standup of the Air Education and Training Command's 24x7 Network Operations and Security Center. Derek then joined Veridian, later acquired by General Dynamics Corporation, to lead multiple cyber security programs in the Department of Defense, Department of Treasury, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). At the DHS, Derek was responsible for establishing and developing the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) and the Einstein program, which created the foundation for a single cyber security incident response and mitigation focal point for the Federal Government (.gov) and private sector (.com).

Derek received his Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems from Clemson University, a M.S. in Information Systems Management from George Washington University, and a M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School.


Cindy Gagliano, PMP, CISSP

VP of Strategy

Cindy Gagliano joined Blue Glacier Management Group as Director, Cyber Policy in April 2008. She has more than 15 years of experience in cyber security policy and compliance within the Federal Government at both the national-level and at a department-level. Cindy manages Blue Glacier’s DHS market client delivery teams and supports the US-CERT in strategic planning, program management and policy initiatives.

Prior to joining Blue Glacier, Cindy Gagliano was a Senior Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton where she assisted federal clients in security management activities, to include complying with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), establishing enterprise-wide incident management capabilities, authoring enterprise-wide information assurance policies and procedures in compliance with federal requirements and standards, conducting system assurance activities and supporting national strategy efforts to secure cyberspace. She served as Deputy Program Management for Booz Allen’s support to the DHS National Cyber Security Division and was responsible for program management, financial, staff, client, contract and subcontract management.

Cindy received her B.A. in International Studies from American University and a M.S. in Information and Telecommunications Systems from Johns Hopkins University. Cindy brings a wealth of experience, expertise and knowledge to any cyber security issue.


Eric Krebs, PMP

VP of Business Operations

Eric Krebs joined Blue Glacier Management Group as the Director of Strategy in 2009 and assumed the role of VP of Business Operations in 2011. He focuses on long-range cyber security efforts across both the Federal government and the private sector. Eric is directly involved in building new partnerships, internal and external strategic communications, and brand development.

Prior to coming to Blue Glacier, Eric served in the U.S. Navy for over 24 years as a P-3 Tactical Coordinator and Mission Commander, serving on numerous worldwide deployments. Eric served as a wing Training Officer, responsible for all operational and maintenance training for over 1500 personnel in six squadrons. He served in numerous leadership roles, culminating in his selection as Reserve Force Squadron Officer in Charge. Later, he was handpicked to serve as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Navy Reserve. Eric was a key member of the executive team that transformed the Navy Reserve from a cold war strategic reserve to an operation reserve and full partner with the Active Component.

Eric received his B.S. in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, a M.S. in Modeling, Virtual Environments and Simulation from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a M.B.A. from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.


Kelly McCracken, PMP, CISSP

Director, Cyber & Intel Operations

Kelly McCracken, Director of Cyber & Intel Operations, joined Blue Glacier Management Group in June 2008. She has more than 9 years of experience in the cyber security and technology field within the Federal Government at both the national-level and at a department-level. Specifically, she concentrates in establishing and standardizing cyber security incident response programs at the department-level and national-level. Additionally, she assists Federal clients with complying with applicable information security legislation, such as the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), by developing enterprise-wide information security policies and procedures. At the US-CERT, Kelly has served as the Special Assistant to the last two Directors, providing support to program, policy, and plans development.

Prior to Blue Glacier, Kelly was an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton where she supported both the civilian and defense markets in information assurance. She co-authored NIST SP 800-61, Computer Security Incident Handling Guide, rev. 1 and participated in developing the national-level cyber security incident response plans. Additionally, Kelly assisted Departments in raising their FISMA grades by conducting appropriate assessments, establishing security controls, and developing incident response programs. While at the National Cyber Security Division, Kelly served as the Special Assistant to the Director. As the main support to the National Cyber Response Coordination Group (NCRCG), Kelly established the Group’s CONOP and SOP that were exercised during Cyber Storm I & II.

Kelly received her B.B.A. in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University, a M.S. in Information and Telecommunications Systems from Johns Hopkins University, and an M.B.A. from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.
